2 pathways are available allowing students to tailor the course to particular interests and to focus either on producing a dissertation or incorporate some element of teaching, whilst also allowing practitioners to obtain continuing professional development (CPD) points for their study and both pathways enable students to utilise their credits from the legal practice course (obtaining 60 additional credits to achieve a qualification at Master's level).
Pathway 1 (dissertation only) practical research skills (additional research sessions are provided in semester 2); dissertation topic (derived from their study on the LPC); pathway 2 (dissertation and taught module) introductory sessions on practical research skills; 1 20-credit module from LLM modules; in semester 2 students plan, research, write-up and submit an 8,000-word dissertation (worth 40 credits).
