Le Cordon Bleu Overview
Over the past century, Le Cordon Bleu has evolved from a small Parisian cooking school to an international network of culinary arts and hospitality institutes. Today, Le Cordon Bleu is represented by 30 schools around the world, and is attended by more than 20,000 students every year. They are taught by Master Chefs, most of which have been recruited from Michelin-starred restaurants and pass on their knowledge of classic French cuisine and modern international culinary techniques to their students.
The London school was founded in 1933 and welcomes every year a truly international mix of students. The school, located in Central London, offers full time professional training as well as short courses for amateurs and aficionados of French gastronomy.
What's on offer
We have a truly international mix of students from all around the world – USA, Japan, South east Asia, South America, Canada, South Africa, Australia as well as Europe. Although all courses are taught in English, we have a multi-lingual staff in order to support and guide students. Students find the cross-cultural experience of studying at LE CORDON BLEU London to be highly rewarding in terms of personal and professional growth.
We are very proud of our team of chefs. Our Master Chefs have trained in the world’s finest restaurants and hotels, many Michelin-starred. Our chefs are here to ensure that intensive learning is mixed with informal enjoyment! They also travel every year to keep up with all the latest culinary trends around the world.
Location
Le Cordon Bleu London is situated in the heart of the city’s fashionable West End, right next to the shopping paradise of Oxford Street, the famous designer shops along Bond Street, the countless theatres, fine restaurants and the vibrant bars and cafes that make London one of the world’s most exciting cities.
Facilities
Class sizes are small, in our professional kitchens equipped to the highest standards: currently 10 students to one chef. This enables us to provide individual tuition, guidance and support.
Subject Strengths
The core of our curriculum, LE GRAND DIPLOME LE CORDON BLEU, offers the most intensive, hands-on and complete training in classic French culinary technique available today!
This program is composed of six certificate courses, three in cuisine and three in Pâtisserie. Students may also qualify for a LE CORDON BLEU Cuisine Diploma or a LE CORDON BLEU Pâtisserie Diploma, by completing the three courses – Basic, Intermediate and Superior – in only the one discipline.
Students also earn a LE CORDON BLEU Certificate for each course they complete successfully.
We also offer short courses that we created with food lovers in mind. These courses assume no prior experience on the part of the guest. These sessions combine leisure within a learning environment. All classes are held in our professionally equipped kitchens.
