Course Description
Students registered for the LLM select four subjects to study doing the programme from those on offer each year. At least two of the four subjects must be taught at SOAS. Essay of your choice instead of one full course option. Some of the course options taught at SOAS: Alternative dispute resolution; Arab comparative commercial law; banking law; Commercial fraud; Commercial law of the People's republic of China; Comparative commercial law; Comparative conflict of laws; Comparative environmental law; Comparative family law; Comparative immigration and nationality law; Copyright and the Music industry; Ethnic minorities and the law; External relations law of the European Union; Foreign trade and investment law of Asia; Human rights of women; human rights in the developing world; International and comparative law of copyright and related rights; International economic law; International environmental law; International trade law; Islamic law; Islamic law of succession; Justice, Reconciliation and Reconstruction; law and development; Law and governance in the developing world; law and society in South Asia; law and society in the Middle East and North Africa; law of Treaties; law of international finance; Law, institutions and political economy of post-socialist transition; Law of South East Asia; modern Chinese law; The international protection of human rights; the law and policy of international Courts and tribunals; Traditional Chinese law and custom; United Nations Law.
