Law is a living subject changing on a daily basis affecting every aspect of our lives. At AS level you will become familiar with the sources of law in England and Wales and study critically the institutions and machinery for justice, the personnel responsible for administering the system and the effectiveness of punishment for wrongdoing. In A2 you will study in detail criminal law. Visits are arranged to the courts and outside lecturers are invited to give talks to students. If you want to study law at university an obvious advantage of studying AS/A2 level Law is that it will enable you to begin your degree with some knowledge of the legal landscape together with some of the basic principles of English law.
Average points score of 5 from your best 8 GCSEs OR 6 GCSEs plus 1 vocational qualification (equivalent to a maximum of 2 GCSEs and 10 points) including English GCSE at grade C.
