This course provides opportunity to participants who wish to develop a comprehensive understanding of Land-based mechanisation - encompassing practical techniques, academic knowledge and technical skills. It covers units that include: land-based vehicle engine technology, mechanical power transmission, land-based vehicle chassis systems, land-based vehicle transmission systems, repair processes and materials technology in land-based, land-based harvesting machinery (cutting and lifting), land-based harvesting machinery (processing), diesel fuel injection systems in land-based technology, land-based machinery (cultivation and planting machinery, land-based machinery (application equipment). To achieve this qualification, they have to gain 120 credits points.
Participants should normally aged 16 or over and the following requirements are needed: 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including at least 1 in English Language and Maths or Science or a Level 2 qualification (eg First Diploma at Merit level including at least 1 key skill at level 2 in either Application of Number or Communication), or equivalent qualifications.
