Kensington and Chelsea College runs over 900 courses in six centres throughout West London. A lively borough home to many famous London landmarks, it boasts a vibrant culture, which extends to college life.
The college prides itself on its diversity and its population boasts a wide range of cultures and ages. Tutors and staff are friendly and approachable. The College’s younger students, who have chosen to study in an adult environment, value the opportunities on offer and appreciate the approach to learning taken by the college.
What's on offerCourses start each term, running mostly part time. Many of the College’s full-time programmes can also be offered in units, so students can study in a flexible way while working, bringing up a family or moving towards self-employment or a career change. Students in receipt of means-tested benefits are usually eligible for concessionary fees, and the college has staff available that can advise on the financial aspects of study and make suggestions if any student is suffering financial hardship. Those aged 16-18 may receive help with Education Maintenance Allowance applications. The college also has special services for students with disabilities or learning difficulties, support for those who have English as a second language or who need help to keep up with their coursework.
KCC has experience of delivering high quality vocational and traditional academic courses. Our teachers are trained professionals who have valuable experience of working in the subject area they teach.
Kensington and Chelsea College also offers funded work-based learning for employers who wish to gain a competitive advantage by ensuring their staff gain nationally recognised qualifications. Employees aged 16-24 can join our Apprenticeship programmes, and the college also offers a wide range of NVQs for employers and their staff aged 25+ through Train to Gain.
Courses run in the day and evening and the subject areas are diverse. These include the following:
A Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for the work it does with health-related courses, the college works with the primary care trusts, universities and hospitals to help the NHS recruit the staff they need.
