Kensington And Chelsea College Overview

Kensington And Chelsea College Overview Image

Kensington and Chelsea College runs over 900 courses in 6 Centres throughout West London. A lively borough home to many famous London landmarks, it boasts a vibrant culture, which extends to college life. We also have a number of smaller sites all based in the Royal Borough.

The college prides its self on its diversity and its population boasts a wide range of cultures and ages. Tutors and staff are friendly and approachable. The College’s younger students, who have chosen to study in an adult environment, value the opportunities on offer and appreciate the approach to learning taken by the college.

What's on offer

We have specialist facilities appropriate for the subjects offered at KCC including, a state of the art Hair & Beauty Salon, music studio facilities, a nationally recognised Millinery department and a reputable Dance and Performing Arts programme. More recently, the new Kensington & Chelsea College Transition Skills Centre, which specialises in Construction courses is based in Park Royal.

Courses start each term, running mostly part time. Many of the College’s full-time programmes can also be offered in units, so students can study in a flexible way while working, bringing up a family or moving towards self-employment or a career change. Students in receipt of means-tested benefits are usually eligible for concessionary fees, and the college has staff available that can advise on the financial aspects of study and make suggestions if any student is suffering financial hardship. Those aged 16 to 18 may receive help with Education Maintenance Allowance applications. The college also has special services for students with disabilities or learning difficulties, support for those who have English as a second language or who need help to keep up with their coursework.

KCC has experience of delivering high quality vocational and traditional academic courses. Our teachers are trained professionals who have valuable experience of working in the subject area they teach.

Kensington and Chelsea College also offers funded work-based learning for employers who wish to gain a competitive advantage by ensuring their staff gain nationally recognised qualifications. Including Apprenticeships and Train to Gain. Employees aged 16-24 can join our Apprenticeship programmes, and the college also offer a wide range of NVQs for employers and their staff aged 25+ through Train to Gain.
