Course Description
A jargon-free roadmap of all the key areas to consider when developing and maintaining your online presence to ensure legal compliance and best practices. The 'virtual' world must still operate within 'real' legal frameworks. If not then your online presence will be at least unprofessional and at worst illegal and therefore potentially subject to a wide range of penalties. This surprisingly fun and lively course provides a comprehensive, jargon-free overview of all the main legal aspects of commissioning, designing, developing and maintaining a web site - intranet, extranet or Internet. It does not constitute legal advice, but does provide clear guidance on what your organisations responsibilities are to ensure your online enterprises are legal and adopting best practices. Course content includes: Checklist of Internet-related law that applies to; Respecting the individual's rights; Realising the company's obligations; Third party relationships for development, delivery, maintenance; The legal implications for; Websites - content, appearance, behaviours; Databases and data management; Emails, normal business dialogues and mass communications; Online transactions & payments; Delivery of goods and services - physical and electronic; Bulletin boards and discussion forums.
