This course aims to study this fascinating artis who never really achieved great acclaim among his peers during his lifetime. We will consider his wonderful use of colour and mythological and literary subjects as well as studying his style in relation to the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and his place in the art world of the Victorian times. The emotional aspect of Waterhouse's works, which accord them a unique place in the paintings of the time, will also be studied.
