Questo corso offre la rara possibilit� di studiare letteratura italiana a un livello avanzato nel suo contesto storico, culturale e filosofico - ideale per chiama l�arte e la musica italiana. Quest�anno prenderemo in esame il periodo del Risorgimento che definisce I cambiamenti politici e culturali che portarono all�unificazione dell�Italia. Esamineremo gli scrittori pi� importanti dell�epoca, come Leopardi e Foscolo, Nievo, Carducci, Pascoli e Verga. Discuteremo inoltre i problemi della lingua nazionale e il ruolo di Manzoni e Ascoli oltre ai libretti di alcune opere famose.
