About this course

The programme aims to develop a critical and analytical approach to economics, banking and management from an Islamic perspective; it also aims to provide a greater awareness of Islamic values and principles, through critical reflection on and appreciation of their application in management and financial institutions; students are encouraged to take a scholarly, Islamic approach to 1 or more specialist areas of economics, banking or management.

Modules

Compulsory: foundations of Islamic economics; Islamic banking (theory and practice); research methodologies; Islamic financial instruments; dissertation (Islamic banking, finance and management); plus options: international management; financial systems:markets and institutions; regulation and governance of Islamic finance; takaful and re_takaful: principles and operations; Islamic law; quantitative financial methods; human resource management; organisational behaviour.
