An interdisciplinary degree (with guaranteed progression onto an appropriate honours degree: Crime and Criminology or Risk and Security Management) providing an understanding of how the criminal justice process works, how investigation processes operate, and the function of forensic psychology (how this enhances effectiveness role as an investigator); where students specialise in the investigation and proof of incidents, whilst enhancing the knowledge and skills developed in investigator training programmes and in accordance with the National Competency Framework (Skills for Justice).
Year 1: Study skills unit with focus on work based learning; social context of policing. Year 2: Frameworks of investigation; forensic psychology; extended practical investigation project.
