Each unit will enable learners to gain a general introduction to the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy sector and understand the range of services and treatments on offer. Learners will develop skills and must achieve a minimum of 38 credits to gain this qualification based on the following units: • Shampoo and conditioning • Skin care • Hand care • Styling women’s hair • Basic make up application • Basic manicure treatment • Basic pedicure treatment • Colour hair using temporary colour • Create a hair and beauty image • Following Health and Safety in the salon • Working with others • The art of dressing hair In addition, learners also study: • Functional Skills in IT, Maths and English • A Work Skills programme covering personal & social development
No formal entry requirements. Students must be 16 at the start of the course and provide a satisfactory reference.
