For students who don�t have academic qualifications, this course is an opportunity to begin training as a secondary school teacher; when the student successfully completes the course they may apply for the 2 year Bachelor of Science secondary degree with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); the course aims to develop the student�s study skills and self confidence and enables them to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding to a level that supports successful application to the secondary teaching degree course; the student can follow the mathematics/science/information and communication technology pathway or the design and technology pathway.
