This Introductory to Health and Safety course will help raise awareness of health and safety legislation and examines a range of practical health and safety issues that arise in the workplace. It promotes a preventative approach to hazards and risks and will enable learners to understand the principles of current health and safety legislation and risk assessment. It also demonstrates basic health and safety requirements in relation to the following aspects of workplace practice: fire safety; control of hazardous substances; manual handling; electricity; display screen equipment; use of work equipment; accident reporting; protective equipment; and first aid.
