Have you ever wondered what a fashion designer actually does and whether it is the right career for you? Have you ever asked how designers come up with a fresh collection every season? This course is specifically designed with the beginner in mind and will guide you through the design process. You will work from a set brief through the research process to generate and develop ideas for fashion garments. There will be workshops in figure drawing and illustration and talks on marketing and collection structure. By the end of the course you should have the beginnings of a portfolio for application for further study in fashion and a clear idea of whether the work of a fashion designer or some other role in this diverse and vibrant industry is for you.
