This course is suitable for those wishing to gain an entry level qualification as a subject ?taster? which will lead to direct entry to Construction Diploma - Carpentry & Joinery Level 1, if proven suitable. The purpose of this course is to give learners an insight into the trade and gain some basic Carpentry skills. The course which focuses on practical activity but includes some written theory and portfolio building, consists of the following units: Unit 1 Introduction to Construction Work Unit 2 Introduction to Health and Safety Unit 3 Handling and Storing Materials/Components Unit 4 Personal Work Skills Unit 5 Carrying out operations (Carpentry and Joinery)
