The course is designed to help develop a global awareness, an ability to grasp and interpret complexity, and a sense of how policies can address rapid, sophisticated change; this course can lead on to study for a research degree (PhD or MPhil), and more professional or vocational elements; the student can focus their studies on global warming, terrorism, finance, institutions or religious conflict, these are skills and competencies that employers need and they are valuable in whichever career the student chooses after they finish their course; teaching is informed by regionally aligned research strengths in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian sub-continent, and Europe; this research feeds directly into the course ensuring that the student learns about the latest issues in this field from world-renowned experts.
Approaching and doing research; international relations: globalisation; theories, methodologies and methods of contemporary international relations; history of thought in international relations; global political economy; and a dissertation.
