Topics and issues examined include: the methodology and practice of diplomacy; coercive diplomacy, including economic sanctions; the law and practice of diplomatic immunity; the purpose of protocol; the pitfalls of international summitry and the theory behind different approaches to negotiations; the limits and successes of public diplomacy.
