This programme has been specifically designed to meet the needs and ever growing sustainability demands of both developed and rapidly developing countries; delivered in a range of formats, it aims to provide students from a diversity of backgrounds with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge at postgraduate level that enable them to become effective environmental managers; the aim is for students to develop the critical and analytical skills associated with postgraduate training as well as acquiring a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles of environmental management, and be trained to undertake the research required to tackle environmental issues; the course includes 2 optional 1-week residential sessions (February and September) at the University of Madras, Chennai, India.
Core modules: research and analytical methods; climate change and risk management; international environmental management policy and control; international wastes management; pollution abatement technologies; geo-informatics for environmental management; implementing sustainability; water resource management; environmental psychology; applied project; research thesis.

Not much previous knowledge needed, u need to be willing to study theses areas and have a general interest. Teachers are great always there to help and u get a lot well double the amount u initially want which is great!!...more
