The Third World development course gives an insight into the ways in which the individual disciplines of geography, sociology, politics and economics approach the study of developing countries, while demonstrating how an interdisciplinary approach can deepen our knowledge of current development problems and the strategies to tackle them; human geography explores interactions between humans and their environment in a range of contexts and at a number of scales; practical and field work are key elements of the teaching programme and students have the opportunity to take part in an optional overseas field course to the South West United States of America.
Third world development All years: Typical modules include: development economics; geography and development; globalisation and development; political economy of China; politics and society in the Third World; the developing world; tropical land management. Human geography All years: Typical modules include: career planning; children's geographies; geography and development; introducing human geographies; issues in human geography; leisure, people and the environment; society and environment; urban geography.

Not much previous knowledge needed, u need to be willing to study theses areas and have a general interest. Teachers are great always there to help and u get a lot well double the amount u initially want which is great!!...more
