This course provides an interdisciplinary framework to understand and critically assess the role of communications for and in development projects.
Core modules: democratisation, information and communication; communication, culture and development; approaches to social research; dissertation; electives: media information markets; developments in communications policy; media and communications theories; international communications and conflict; representation and reception; transnational media and communication; globalising cities; analysing media discourses; media and human rights; transnational communications and transcultural studies; political sociology; issues in media and communications research; international organisations in global politics; NGO�s, human rights and the united nations system.
