Course Description
A large part of the built environment of the world consists of architecture that has been inherited from the past. In a time of rapid globalisation, climate change, population growth and technological development, it is essential that the regeneration and development of this inherited built environment, including vernacular architecture, is seen as an essential component of sustainable development. This course aims to provide you with the knowledge, skills and tools that are necessary to propose and implement innovative yet culturally sensitive and environmentally sustainable interventions in the inherited built environment. International in focus, with an emphasis on field research and design projects, it prepares you to assume a practical and leading role in organisations involved in architectural regeneration and development, in countries around the world.
