Course Description
This is a professionally oriented degree that prepares graduates for design practice in the multi-disciplinary area of spatial design. It adopts a cluster approach to this area of study through three pathways - BA(Hons) Interior Design, BA(Hons) Exhibition and Retail Design and an enhanced undergraduate degree pathway, Master of Design (MInt). each provides optimum access to learning experiences, employment opportunities and the development of individual abilities, skills and personal aspirations. We place strong emphasis on individual development, creative exploration and expression and a personal interpretation of the many facets of design within the generic subject areas of Interior and Exhibition/Display design. Design work is pursued through vocational topics and a focus developed through Year 1 and year 2 before you make your individual subject choices in the final stages of the programme. Graduates are eligible for membership of the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD)

Assessment method
Continuous assessment is via design project and assignments, together with progression points at the end of each year. All modules in the second and final year count towards the Honours classification. In years 4 and 5 assessed modules count towards the MInt pathway classification.
Entry Requirements
Relevant art and design qualification (Diploma in Foundation Studies, BTEC National Diploma, appropriate GCE A Levels, relevant Access course, or equivalent), plus a portfolio of your existing work. Some universities and colleges also provide 'Entry Profiles' which give applicants to higher education more detailed information on the courses they want to study, qualifications required, selection criteria, etc. There are strict deadlines for application to UCAS courses. The closing date for receiving on-time applications for Route B courses is in March. Please consult the UCAS website for details.
