Course Description
Globalisation is giving rise to a fast growing need for people with intercultural communication skills and an in-depth understanding of cultural issues. This innovative programme prepares you for a world of global contact, developing an awareness of cultural diversity issues and communication across cultures. Most communities and work places are now multicultural and this requires sensitivity and knowledge of how other people may think and act in order to manage such communities and work situations. You will be trained both to analyse and explain cultural differences in language use and how different people think and act and to design effective intercultural briefing programmes. The programme draws on the latest developments in linguistic and psychological theory. You may take option pathways in other disciplines such as management, marketing, TEFL and travel and tourism, where you will study alongside students of those disciplines.
