Instituto Cervantes London Overview
The Instituto Cervantes is the Spanish Government’s official language and culture network, with centres throughout the world. Its mission is to promote the Spanish language and the cultures of both Spain and Latin America.
Language courses are complemented by a programme of free film screenings and other cultural events, plus an extensive library with some 30,000 books, movies, CDs etc.
The Instituto Cervantes is also an important participant in annual events such as the London Spanish Film Festival and the London Flamenco Festival.
Conveniently located near Victoria and Sloane Square stations, the Instituto’s London campus offers Spanish courses at all levels from beginner to advanced and higher.
Students can choose from morning, afternoon, evening or Saturday classes, studying once a week, twice a week, or Monday to Friday (intensive courses).
All the Instituto’s teachers are native speakers, and use modern teaching methods to ensure students can communicate in a wide range of situations.
The Instituto Cervantes prepares students for the official DELE (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language) exams, and awards its own certificates to those who successfully complete each level.
There are special courses in conversation, business Spanish, translation and Catalan, while the AVE interactive online course allows students to study at home at their own pace.
Spain’s most influential writers, film directors, historians etc regularly visit the Instituto Cervantes to take part in our programme of cultural events, which includes lectures, debates, film screenings, exhibitions, book launches and more.
The library includes DVDs of classic movies as well as the latest offerings from Spain and Latin America, plus some of the best TV series.
