Course Description
This Centre's research strategy identifies advanced technologies supplemented by secure and reliable data communications as vital to this trend, providing new functionality and new delivery mechanisms. The research emphasizes the development and application of technologies and technological solutions to address real-world problems in a range of real-world contexts including, for example construction, medical, food, and manufacturing applications. Focusing strongly on the interaction between information-driven technologies and the human environment, the Centre addresses a spectrum of technologies ranging from communications infrastructure, visualization, advanced robotic and haptic devices, through to the tools and techniques for creating and managing the information and knowledge that control and drive these technologies. A holistic view is taken of the application of technologies in carrying out research in which both technical and applied aspects that are brought to bear to meet the needs of users through innovative applications, feeding back into development of theory and technological foundations.
