This programme develops mathematical modelling skills and provides mathematical techniques required by industry; the period October-June is devoted to lectures, tutorials and practical sessions comprising the core modules; this is followed by a period of about 14 weeks devoted to an individual project either in an industrial or engineering company or at the University; an important aspect of the programme is that it is monitored by a Joint Industry/Academic Committee that advises on the content and structure of the programme.
Compulsory modules: 1st semester: mathematical modelling of industrial problems I; regular and chaotic dynamics; programming and numerical methods; advanced reliability, availability and maintainability; 2nd semester: mathematical modelling of industrial problems II; elements of partial differential equations; static and dynamic optimisation; fluid mechanics.
