This course is for students who have some prior experience of improvisation. It is suitable for anyone who wants to try something new and have a fun week. They will learn all the rules that 'make improvisation work' and engage in exercises to develop the skills core to successful improvisation.

Even if you have some prior experience of improvisation this course is for you because it is suitable for anyone who wants to try something new and have a fun week. You will learn all the rules that 'make improvisation work' and engage in exercises to develop the skills core to successful improvisation. There are many improvisation games and workshops to start the week culminating in a group performance at the end. We will cover:

how to be more spontaneous;

how to release your creativity;

being 'in the moment'; and

how to improve your active listening skills and teamwork (improvisation is not a solo activity) to create stories and ideas collectively.

You will discover that failure does not exist - only more or less successful ways of doing things.

This course is 100% practical - the only way to learn it is to do it. So, you will be on your feet 'doing' nearly all the time, in pairs and in small groups. No previous experience of improvisation, acting or any kind of performance is required for this course. Whether you want a career in the industry or just to improve your confidence then this is the course for you.
