The course involves creative image making and problem solving important areas for a variety of illustration work, be it for editorial purposes, children's books, natural history, packaging or advertising; students learn about drawing, design history, building creative concepts and printmaking; they also use relevant software and are always taught the most up-to-date methods in the industry.
Level 1: Illustration; drawing; printmaking; graphics and typography; materials experimentation; design history; natural history illustration; illustration for animation. Level 2: Illustration for publishing; illustration for children; printmaking; drawing; design history; natural history illustration; illustration for animation. Level 3: Design research project; portfolio development; illustration for competitions; final major project.
