Hydroponic production of plants is in many respects far more environmentally friendly and sustainable than many other ways of growing horticultural crops. It usually involves using closed systems so waste products cannot escape uncontrolled into the environment. Even though it can be relatively costly to set up, it can produce a lot more plants per square metre than growing in soil hence it doesnt have such a large footprint on the environment.

The final year consisted of one taught session and one tutorial per month. This filled well with my teaching commitments and the supports of the tutor was always available....more
The course gave a great opportunity to work in different sectors of childcare (ie nursery, schools, etc). The tutors were friendly and easy to talk too and gave options and advice for later progress, especially in assignments....more
