This programme provides intensive quantitative training in the planning and sustainable management of water resource systems; practically oriented and multidisciplinary in approach it trains engineers capable of solving hydrological and water resource problems with focus on past hydrological methods and future change.
Students complete compulsory modules (80 credits); optional modules (20 credits); research project written up as dissertation (80 credits); diploma students complete the same compulsory modules and 40-credit dissertation; compulsory modules may include: Integrated river basin management; sustainability and water resources; hydrosystems processes and management; hydrosystems modelling; climate change, earth system, future scenarios and threats; climate change, vulnerability, impacts and adaptation; quantitative methods in engineering; options may include: Groundwater assessment; groundwater modelling; modelling of floods; hydroinformatics systems development; climate change, mitigation technologies.
