Course Description
Research in the department of Humanities, Arts and Languages is concerned primarily with area studies (Caribbean, European, Irish), literary, film and media cultures; history; critical theory and philosophy; language teaching, linguistics and translation; and creative writing and performance. Much of the research is interdisciplinary. If you are interested in this area of work, please contact the department/institute to discuss your research proposal ideas. Acceptance as a research student will depend on the suitability of your academic qualifications and our ability to provide appropriate supervision in your chosen field.

Entry Requirements
Aside from a good honours degree in a relevant subject, you are advised to contact the provider regarding precise entry requirements, as these may vary, according to your chosen research department. An educational record and full employment history are required, in addition to a provisional title and proposed research outline. You will need to forward the details of two academic referees, to whom you will have the responsibility for issuing 'reference request forms'.
