Our course is suitable if students who have a particular interest in this specialised area of study; our students acquire a deeper knowledge and understanding of the central issues and debates surrounding the application and justification of human rights within a culturally complex and diverse world; these problems are legal, social, political and philosophical, and our course reflects this in our multidisciplinary approach; in contrast to our other human rights courses, this MA examines human rights specifically in relation to cultural diversity; graduates are well placed for careers as a journalist, a policy analyst or researcher, as an official in the United Nations system or as an activist in humanitarian and policy-making non-governmental bodies in the UK and abroad; we also prepare our students to undertake further independent research in the field of human rights.
