Since 1999 Holts Academy Of Jewellery has been delivering training with the sole aim of regenerating the UK Jewellery industry. The sector is now in focus for local government regeneration. The Holts Academy has been working to this end long before it became fashionable.
Times are changing. The Holts Academy Of Jewellery is entering a new phase in its growth and development. With the procurement of a new building in early June and a compliment of new staff, the Academy will use this opportunity to expand on the world class skills we can offer the industry, taking the vision of education and skills on offer through the academy to a new high.
This comes at a time when the UK is considered a hotbed of design excellence to rival that of any nation. And yet very few of our designer-makers make it to this international level. We know the world wants UK design and we want to support home grown talent and help them breakthrough to the next level.
As a not for profit enterprise we are engaged in the sector for the passion of adult education and training and the very real impact it can have on creating business growth. We create new opportunities, we support new start-ups, we link designers with manufacturers, and we foster sustainable business growth.
We create opportunities for business, for individuals and for the industry. We train over 600 adult learners per year in all aspects of the trade, we have added 400 Jewellery businesses to London's economy.
Until now, we have been a well kept secret, and yet have achieved a number of awards and accolades which include; Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion 2006, UK Jewellery Awards for Retail Innovation of the Year 2005, London Business Awards Commitment to the Community 2004, London Enterprise Competition 2004 and National Training Awards 2002 amongst many others.
