This module examines Tudor painting, including Holbein’s work at the court of Henry VIII, the dazzling portraits of Elizabeth I and jewelled miniatures of leading courtiers. Changing styles and layouts of royal palaces such as Hampton Court, as well as of grand country houses, will be shown to reflect life at the Tudor court itself.
