The HNC Housing programme is run in conjunction with London South Bank University. It consists of 6 units that focus on the study of the social housing sector and explores areas such as: Society and Welfare, Housing in Context and Law for Housing Professionals. In Year 1, you will also attend a field trip study visit to examine and explore different urban regeneration schemes and their impact on social housing residents. You will be encouraged to take an experimental and individual approach to your study. The course starts from the experience you and your fellow students have within the work place. This is used to develop understanding, good practice and to the skills relevant to good housing practice in different housing settings. You will gain invaluable experience of the use of computer systems along with a sound understanding and knowledge of many disciplines to enable you to perform successfully at a senior level within the housing profession. You will also develop a range of transferable skills, such as communication, both written and verbal, both of which may be developed in whatever career you pursue. There are a wide variety of learning methods used e.g. projects, workshops, study visits and group exercises as well as traditional lectures and seminars.
One of the following qualifications: BTEC National Qualification, Advanced GNVQ, Access to HE Diploma, 1 A level or 2 AS Levels or Advance Diploma. If you have no formal qualifications but have relevant work experience your application will be still considered.
