About this course

This course covers all types of heat pump installations, including: air to water installations, air to air installations, floor mounted distribution systems, wall mounted split systems and ground source heat pumps. Course modules cover: environmental issues, background and advances in GSHP and ASHP; main types of GSHP/ASHP systems; site surveying and identification; system design; heat loss calculations for heat pumps; installation methods; commission systems; fault finding and rectification; servicing requirements for GSHP/ASHP systems; legislation around refrigerant handling.

Additional entry requirements

Participants should have Plumbing level 2 qualification or working towards NVQ level 2, Unvented Hot Water Systems Certificate or equivalent industry experience in the plumbing and heating industry.
