The programme is designed to provide a biopsychological perspective on the nature and study of human behaviour and health, with an emphasis on the contemporary developments in the social and biological sciences; a social context is provided for these studies through anthropological, psychological and sociological perspectives on health and healthcare; the broad spectrum of biological approaches from molecular to evolutionary studies also presents a diverse range of theories and methods for the study of human behaviour and health; students develop their research skills through the study of research methods, a research project (MSc students only) and contact with active researchers.
Assessment of health and wellbeing; evolution and genetics; principles of neurobiology; rhythms, mood and sleep; social, psychological and biological approaches to health and disease.
