Many UK health providers and Primary Care Trusts are now introducing the expertise of exercise rehabilitation specialists to work in obesity and exercise prescription programmes as well as in cardiac rehabilitation programmes; this course will combine theoretical and practical experiences from practitioners and academics across multi-disciplinary areas such as medicine, sport science and psychology; this course offers a flexible approach to learning and aims to: facilitate independent and self directed learning and reflective practice in the field of exercise rehabilitation; develop professional skills specific to the field of exercise rehabilitation; identify and evaluate practical applications in the field of exercise rehabilitation; develop research skills to support the continued development of exercise rehabilitation as a disciplineImportantly the course offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and explore the significance of values within other health and physical recreation professions in order to develop greater understanding and communication between associated disciplines and cultures.
