The course adopts a cross disciplinary approach to studying health exercise and well being; it explores issues around health and well being, using multiple theoretical perspectives drawn from sports science and nutrition, applied social sciences, public health policy and health sciences; the course adopts a modular structure which is related to the work related needs of students; students are able to develop research skills in their particular area of interest and are encouraged to contribute to the body of knowledge in that particular topic and are encouraged to relate this to client focussed practice, through the work based and related assessment structure, this enhancing practice and employability; the course is delivered by a combination of face to face contact, independent study and distance learning opportunities
