The Skills for Life department is part of the Institute, which has been providing adult education in London since 1909. We are a friendly, supportive team who are committed to your learning and needs. In 2006/7 we received over 20 points of excellence in our British Council inspection.
Our location offers the best of both worlds: you can study in a lovely residential area close to the beautiful parks and open spaces of Hampstead and Highgate while in just 20 minutes you can be in the heart of central London.

Work experience placements can also be arranged (additional fees apply)
Accommodation
We offer a very good network of homestays and other accommodation within easy travelling distance of the college. An administration fee of £50 is charged
We can also provide advice on hotels and renting self-catering accommodation to suit all budgets.
Visa Requirements
Students on fulltime courses can receive letters for the Home Office but attendance at these classes is necessary as checks are made by the Home Office.
Students based in the UK
You may be eligible for fully funded courses, or reduced fees (subject to status).
Social Programme
This is designed to enhance your enjoyment of being in London and help you make new friends. Includes:
- Cultural visits e.g. to the Houses of Parliament, The Old Bailey
- Guided walks around London e.g. the City of London
- Historical city visits e.g. to Cambridge, Bath and Stonehenge
