This course has three strands: Science: Understanding essential biology of hair, skin and scalp and physical effects of chemicals and services in current hairdressing. Creativity: Ability to create styles and looks that will distinguish you from competitors. Business: Supporting development and potential success of professional salon business with the focus on management skills. This course is aimed at students who are currently working in the hairdressing industry and who aspire to furthering their career. This will support the demand for more qualified staff educated and trained to meet the fast moving needs of the industry today.
NVQ Level 3 Hairdressing or equivalent, with 4 subjects at GCSE including English and Maths Grade C or above. Applications from mature students without these qualifications and with Hairdressing background will be considered on an individual basis. National and Advanced Diplomas in a relevant subject are accepted as a progression to a Foundation Degree. Prospective students will be required to successfully complete a Criminal Bureau Records (CRB) check. Please note, additional costs may be incurred for the necessary CRB check and if any equipment, resources or trips need to be purchased.
