The Hairdressing Level 2 consists of nine units, eight mandatory and one optional unit from a choice of four, to achieve the full NVQ.

Unit G17 Give a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
Unit G7 Advise and consult with clients
Unit GH8 Shampoo, condition and treat the scalp
Unit GH9 change hair colour
Unit GH10 Style and finish hair
Unit GH11 Set and dress the hair
Unit GH12 Cut hair using basic techniques
Optional  units
Unit G18 Promote additional products or services to clients
Unit G8 Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Unit G2 Fulfil salon reception duties
Unit GH14 Perm and neutralise hair

All students receive tutorial guidance and are set personal targets to ensure satisfactory progress on the course. Full time students may also study specialist techniques including Men's Hairdressing, cosmetic make-up and manicure. There is also the opportunity to visit exhibitions and take part in competitions and seminars
