This course provides a foundation qualification in basic ladies hairdressing. It provides a follow on from introduction in hairdressing. It comprises of units to cover basic practical skills and related underpinning knowledge: ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety, give clients a positive impression of themselves and their organisation, advise and consult with clients, shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp, change hair colour, style and finish hair, set and dress hair, cut hair using basic techniques, fulfil salon reception duties, promote additional services or products to clients, develop and maintain effectiveness at work, plait and twist hair, perm and neutralise hair.
Students should have 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above in English and Maths.
