This course is equally split between Hair and Beauty. The qualification is made up of units, each unit representing an area of skill. To allow students to experience a truly realistic working environment, theory days and commercial salon day operate on a rota, which includes some twilight sessions. Subjects include mini manicure treatments, hair styling (hair up) as well as units that contribute to health and safety and reception work. Study at home is essential. This can lead to a Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing, a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy or to an Apprenticeship in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy.
You will need to have three A-C grade GCSEs. You will be invited to attend an interview at the College and to complete an assessment test. It is essential that applicants are forward thinking, enthusiastic and motivated to work with the public.
