This course covers the following in unit 1: rationalism and empiricism, scepticism, perception: are the perceptions real?, knowledge and belief: how to gain knowledge?. In this unit students will study the text of one philosopher and philosophical theme. Examples: Descartes' meditations, philosophy of religion: does god exist?, philosophy of mind: are the minds and bodies linked? what is consciousness?.
Students must be 19 or older and required to attend an interview or induction.
