Welcome to Havering College
Havering College is a large and diverse further and higher education college and is in the top 10 per cent of colleges based on size. The College is also a major provider of Higher Education, and is the largest provider of higher education in a college in London. The College sees teaching and learning as its first priority and thereby promotes the ethos of a professional learning community.

We have over 12,000 students at Havering College who are from a wide range of backgrounds, age groups and ethnicities. We have an excellent range of full-time, part-time and short courses for learners of all ages and we are confident we can help everyone achieve their goals.

We provide access to an unrivalled range of courses from a diverse curriculum like Engineering, Construction, Health and Social Care and Early Years, Creative Arts etc. Our courses can be tailored to meet the needs of individuals and employers and delivered in College or in the workplace, in a flexible and supportive way to ensure achievement.

We support progression from age 14 right the way through to degree level. This means you can enrol on an entry level course and leave with one of a wide-range of degrees we have on offer.

The college serves the local community of the London Borough of Havering and has one of the largest “pull” factors of all London colleges. Learners travel 16 minutes longer than average compared to other colleges because of the College’s track record and reputation.

The college continues to meet challenging targets it sets for itself and also those targets which are presented by external agencies. Success rates are good, and in some areas outstanding, especially in our A Level results.

The college’s overall effectiveness is good. Our most recent Ofsted report delivered us a Good pass rate and we strive to achieve Outstanding the next time round.

What's on offer

Student Services
Student Services is here to support you while you study at Havering College. The service provides information, advice, guidance, financial support, counselling, careers advice, one to one personal support, extra curricular activities, events and lots of enjoyable ways to fill your free time.

Student Services operate across all College sites to ensure that all students have access to the support they might need. We exist to support and encourage students and do all we can to aid academic success.

Student Union
All Havering College students are automatically part of the Students’ Union. This is led by an elected committee who work closely with Student Services to offer a range of extra curricular activities including fundraising, trips, awareness raising events and parties. If you want to gain the most from your student experience at Havering College and are willing to work hard as part of a team, putting yourself forward for election could prove an excellent decision!

Student Ambassadors
Here at Havering College we have a team of Student Ambassadors who are current students that support us in college activities.

The ambassadors can help advise you of how they manage their studies successfully and offer tips about balancing their study with work and life. Plus, they can show you how it is possible to progress to degree and higher education courses at Havering College, and lots of other stuff too.

They provide a personal and professional service in welcoming prospective students, parents, overseas visitors and school leavers to the college.

They are the best people to speak to if you want to know exactly what it is like to be a student here.

International Students
We realise that choosing the right place to study abroad is probably one of the most important decisions you have had to make.

At Havering, we hope that the individual attention we give to international students will help you to choose the right course, will ease you through the application process and will help you settle into life in the UK.

In addition to the quality of the teaching and learning at Havering College, you will have the chance to enjoy a full and varied student social life. The College has excellent facilities and is close to the centre of London and provides excellent support for all its students.

Disability Support

Stepping Stones Day Nursery
Stepping Stones Day Nursery is placed within the grounds of Ardleigh Green Campus of the college. It caters for children aged from 3 months to 5 years. Anyone can use the nursery, staff and students of the college as well as members of the general public.

The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year. As you would expect of a nursery that is located within a high achieving college, the staff are very highly qualified, exceeding the requirements as laid down by Ofsted.

The nursery has had very good Ofsted inspections and is rated highly by them.

Jubilee Restaurant
Our Jubilee Restaurant is open to the public and staffed by students in the kitchens, as well as front of house.

We also cater for special in-house and outside events. The Jubilee can be booked subject to availability for anyone who has an exclusive function or party.

Hair, Beauty and Complementary Therapy, Ardleigh Green Campus
Our salons are equipped with professional products and equipment. Our students have a caring and professional attitude.

All our treatments are carried out under supervision and only professional products are used. Treatments are offered at reduced costs to reflect the fact that we are a training establishment.

The Lanes Hair and Beauty, Brentwood
We have a full range of treatments available, our L’Oreal Professional Flagship Salon provides all hairdressing services and we have a full range of retail products for people to purchase.

At present we are offering a wide range of Holistic Therapy Treatments such as massage and reflexology.

We have a full range of Beauty products for people to purchase such as OPI nail polishes, Fake Bake, Dermalogica face and Body Products.

Library and LRC
Our Learning Resources Centres (LRC) support teaching and enhance the learning experience of our students. The college provides a world of specialist multimedia study resources which are available at your fingertips, including an interlending service with the British Library, making sure those hard-to-get items are well within your reach.
