Grow your own Cutting Garden. Suitable for all levels including beginners. How exciting to grow and harvest your own cut flowers. The feeling of achievement is immense as you create vases of free, homegrown, eco friendly, British flowers from Spring through to the first frosts and beyond. A full day course. On this course you will learn which flowers to grow for a long cutting season. We will talk about choosing plants, preparing the ground, sowing and planting both annual and perennial flowers, harvesting and conditioning your crop. You will discover that a cutting garden can be stylish, scented and wildlife friendly as well as functional. There will be ample opportunity to look round our cutting garden here at The Sussex Flower School to get ideas and inspiration. Later in the day we will discuss arranging your flowers and demonstrate how to make a hand tied bouquet to inspire you further. Don't worry if you only have a small garden, even a metre square patch can provide you with armfuls of flowers. You will leave with a plan for your own plot, ready for you to create - no excuses. The course is taught by Georgia, who gained her knowledge by creating the garden here at Buckle Cottage from an empty field. The day is very down to earth with the emphasis being on creating a Cutting Garden that will produce the ingredients for lovely arrangements. Course includes all materials, refreshments and a delicious lunch.
