Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Graphic Design is specialist vocational programme, linked to professional body requirements and with a strong work related emphasis. The HND provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the graphic design industry and its wide recognition by employers allows progression directly into employment. This programme offers a through introduction to the key areas of graphic design preparing students for a wide range of careers. Students will be given an opportunity to explore different areas of art and graphic design including contextual referencing, digital imaging, typography, drawing techniques and idea generation techniques. A range of assessment methods is used including coursework, projects, presentations and time constrained assignments. The course will be assessed through both practical and theoretical assignments, such as creative projects, presentations, reports and group work.
